The open Russian contest «Best project of the year»
The open Russian contest «Best project of the year» has been held in Russia since 2013. The contest is held by the Russian national project management Association «SOVNET» as an analogue of IPMA Global Project Excellence Award.
The mission of the contest corresponds to the main goal of SOVNET:
To promote the development of professional project management in Russia. The contest disseminates information about the best national practices, companies, professionals and encourages their development.
Annually about 30 innovative, successful, breakthrough projects from all over the country, of different sectors and different levels of complexity take part in the contest.
The winners of the contest in different years were such leading Russian organizations as Joint-Stock Company Atomstroyexport (JSC ASE) (engineering company, which occupies 30% of the world market for construction of nuclear power plant units), Sberbank of Russia (one of the largest banks in the world), RZD (one of the world's largest railway companies), Information technology center (engaged in the creation of electronic document management at the international level), various ministries and departments.
Many of the projects won the competition are truly unique, and some are completely innovative for the whole world.
"Best project of the year" evaluates the results of the project and the effectiveness of its management on the basis of the IPMA Project Excellence Model®.
The evaluation is carried out by a professional assessment team consisting of experts with considerable experience in project management in various industries, as well as experience in consulting in the field of project management.
All participants receive an individual, detailed Feedback Report containing project management strengths and areas for improvement of their projects.
The winners of the contest can become a positive example, a guide for organizations wishing to improve the efficiency of their own projects.
The final award ceremony is held annually in one of the major cities of Russia, engaging participants from neighboring regions.
In different years the final was taken by Ekaterinburg, Tomsk, Yaroslavl, Moscow, Ulyanovsk.
Many winners of «the Best Project of the Year» became participants of the international Project Excellence Award.
Thus, the winners of the international contest in different years were projects of such leading Russian companies as Atomstroyexport (ASE), IDGC of Centre, Sberbank of Russia.
